FROM BROWSER TO ANDROID

Take your engine anywhere.

SMART ENGINE is prepared for PWA installation and Android packaging with free tools.

Prepared for packaging—not an already-built APK

This project includes Capacitor configuration with package ID com.smartengine.app. Building and signing an APK requires Android Studio on your computer. No paid API is required.

Free website deployment

  1. Publish through the app editor to keep built-in Google authentication, key-value storage and server functions connected.
  2. For a standalone static site, export the source and run npm install, npm run icons, and npm run build.
  3. Upload the dist folder to Cloudflare Pages using its free tier, or connect a Git repository with build command npm run build and output directory dist.
  4. Open the HTTPS address and install from your browser.

A standalone static export does not recreate GenMB’s server SDK. Guest settings and official game links work; Google sign-in, account sync, activation and seller publishing require the original platform runtime. Do not claim these services work after moving only static files.

Prepare an Android build

Install a current Node.js LTS compatible with Capacitor 8 (Node 22+), Android Studio, and the Android SDK requested by Capacitor. Use Android Studio’s bundled JDK.

npm install
npm run icons
npm run build
npm run android:add
npm run android:sync
npm run android:open

Run android:add only once. After every web change, run android:sync. The icon generator creates optional PNG icons and an Android-ready 1024px source icon. The PWA uses the bundled SVG icon and does not require icon generation.

Export your APK

  1. In Android Studio, wait for Gradle sync and run the app on an emulator or Android phone.
  2. For a test APK, use Build → Build App Bundle(s) / APK(s) → Build APK(s). The debug file is normally in android/app/build/outputs/apk/debug/app-debug.apk.
  3. For distribution, choose Build → Generate Signed Bundle / APK → APK.
  4. Create a private keystore, keep a secure backup, choose the release variant, and complete signing. Never commit the keystore or its passwords.
  5. Find the signed APK in the output folder Android Studio reports. Share it directly for sideloading; Google Play developer registration is not free and is not required for direct APK sharing.
  6. Use Image Asset Studio → Launcher Icons, select public/icons/icon-1024.png, and generate adaptive launcher icons. Test installation, icon cropping and app links on a physical phone.

Native WebViews do not automatically inherit the platform’s browser session or runtime. Before distributing a Capacitor APK, obtain a supported native authentication/runtime integration from the platform and test Google sign-in and server calls. For an installable version that retains the hosted runtime now, install the published PWA; alternatively package the published site as a Trusted Web Activity with Bubblewrap and owner-controlled Digital Asset Links. Do not use Capacitor’s development server.url as a production shortcut.

Good to know

Do speed modes make games run faster?

No. Slow, Fast and Ultra Fast only adjust SMART ENGINE’s interface transitions. They do not alter third-party games.

Does the app work offline?

The PWA caches the app shell after a successful visit. Official games, Google sign-in, activation, seller lookup and account settings need a connection. Guest interface preferences work locally.

Are any paid services required?

No paid API is used. Cloudflare’s static-hosting free tier, Capacitor and Android Studio provide a free deployment and APK-building path. Store publishing fees and optional paid platform plans are not part of this app.
